Corner Booth Quilt Kits!!

I am beyond lucky to have some of my favorite fabric shops offering kits on my second pattern!

Due to the timing of the pattern release we rushed these folks a bit so photos may evolve as real life examples make their way to us, but each and every one of these fabric pulls are spectacular and worth checking out.

I highly encourage you to support these shops when you can. And if you don’t need them for this kit, check them out for some backing fabric, or a bundle from your favorite fabric designer!

Use Your Own Fabric for Corner Booth!!

Knowing a quilt is going to be spectacular is the beauty of purchasing a quilt kit. But some of you like to use your stash or have your own unique color combo in mind. If you want to pull some of your own fabric for this quilt, here are some tips:

Corner Booth works best with solids or fabrics that read as solids. We’ve also discovered that prints work best when they are smaller, non-directional and pretty busy, like the Rifle Paper Co holiday prints shown here. It helps to keep the prints separate from each other to keep the progression of the pattern well defined, crisp, and bold.

You can see from the examples we’ve made above that these types of fabrics keep those lines and curves well defined, bold, and striking even when the colors are softer. We found the Duval Boho Birds print to be the perfect combo with the coordinating PURE solids from Suzy Quilt’s collection. Ruby Star Society’s Speckled fabrics are excellent on their own or as mixers as you can see in the middle photos. And of course, AGF PURE Solids have such great saturation and tone to make any color pull spectacular.

In Partnership with Alisa Galitsyna

This image, Retro 70’s Color Palette II, kept popping up in my Pinterest feed. Like all good quilters I kept thinking, dang - that would make a cool quilt.

So one day, I did a little research, wrote and re-wrote an email, , gathered a lot of courage, and then reached out and asked Alisa, the designer, if she would be up for a collaborative project.

She said yes!

All the necessary details were discussed and agreed upon. She was very enthusiastic and I was very grateful. We both feel this partnership is a great way to blend graphic designs and creativity across artistic mediums.

Alisa is a Ukrainian national living in Barcelona and she licenses her graphic designs to big name shops like Society 6, World Market, and Target. You can read an interview between her and The Fox Shop here.

In response to the creation of Retro 70s Color Palette II Alisa says, “I was inspired by the retro era and pop culture, embracing the nostalgia of those vibrant times. I aimed to create something simple yet complex at the same time. I used some of my favorite colors, red and blue, along with their shades, to create this bold design, infusing it with a sense of nostalgia and a touch of modern flair.”

About our partnership to transform this design into a quilt pattern she says, “I'm really pleased with our collaboration. I think you've breathed new life into my design through the quilts. People will dedicate time and enjoy the process to create a unique piece that will both adorn their homes and provide warmth and comfort.”

Thank you, Alisa, for trusting me to bring your work into the quilting world. It was a joy to create with it and a wonderful experience working with you!

And THANK YOU to everyone out there for enjoying our work!! Sew on, friends, sew on!
