Butterfly Garden Quilt, Suzy Quilts
So. Now that we’ve established that you will be sending all your adorable butterflies my way, let’s talk quilting pantographs. Anything super sweet is a great match with the butterflies. With all that negative space in the quilt, anything modern is super lovely. Pantos that are both sweet and modern are going to knock you out with their spectacularness. (That’s a word, right?) The three below are case and point. String Theory - modern. Loophole - super sweet. JuJu Beans - Spectacularness.
When so many pantos will work on a quilt, I often let the colors and fabrics guide me. Moon Phases below was a really fun touch to a moody monocromatic quilt, letting that one colorful butterfly to shine. Wishbone was classy and simple, a good compliment to a classy rainbow palette. And Buttercup was the only way to go with that butterfly backing fabric. These three beauties are all from Global Fiber Shop and she’s still got a few left!
Suzy is great about writing patterns that are practically a blank canvas for a longarmer. Soooooo many pantos look good on her quilts and the Butterfly Garden is no exception. When you have so much versitility in a quilt like this it can be a fun place to play with texture. With the right amount of movement, the quilt and panto end up elevating each other to a whole new level. I’m particularly in love with City of Fountains and Abundance, though none of the ones below disappoint. All four of them are kits from Sarah Made. She’s still got some, including the cover quilt!
Want more? Oh, friends. I’ve got so many more ideas! But since it wouldn’t really be helpful to have most of the pantograph library listed here, I will pair it down to some of my favorites. Below you will find some that I’d love to put on a Butterfly Garden quilt. Let it be known, though, that YOU need to love your pantograph. Find a handful that YOU love from our library and start with those.
What have we learned today? First - 25% off longarm quilting services on all Butterfly Garden Quilts now through August. Second - the pantograph options are endless. GAH! It’s a pretty cool blog post if you ask me. :) Alright, let’s get to it. I look forward to seeing your quilt soon!
